Recently we developed the One Day With Your Team program – which, as the name implies, lasts only one day, and this question kept popping up in my mind – how little is enough?

If all the knowledge is passed, then the recipient is a passive agent. But how little knowledge is enough to allow the recipient to construct his own?
It is tempting to go overboard and flood the floor with information. But is it useful?
On the other hand, will it be enough?

Today we were facilitating a hybrid program we are delivering to some of our partners. As some participants struggled with today’s exercise, the answer seemed to pop up – less is more. Deep trumps wide, quality trumps quantity.

When in doubt, it is better to go for less. Even if you feel a little lost at first, if you have the essentials, you’ll be able to build on that and make progress – and you’ll own it. And remember, growth always happens outside of your comfort zone.

If we only have one day to work with a team, we clearly choose to go deep instead of wide, and we believe the impact proves it is the right choice!
