I’m endlessly curious about what happens when we step away from the noise of everyday life and give ourselves the time and space to think differently.

For over a decade I’ve designed and led expeditions, adventures and creative experiences around the world. Alongside and before this, I’ve built and sold businesses, worked with entrepreneurs, leaders and organisations, and helped people tackle complex challenges through creativity, innovation and systems thinking.

Over time I realised that the greatest transformations rarely happened at the summit of a mountain or at the end of a trek. They happened during the conversations along the way – when walking side-by-side, immersed in nature, people found the space to think more clearly, reconnect with themselves and see life from a different perspective.

That realisation eventually led me to Walking Mentorship.

Today I combine the Walking Mentorship methodology with my own developing Cognitive Rewilding approach, bringing together walking, nature, creativity and reflective practice to help people slow down, reconnect, gain perspective and take meaningful action.

I’m also passionate about developing the evidence base for this work. I’m the author of The Creativity Factor, exploring the relationship between movement, nature and creative thinking, and I contributed the chapter on creativity and serious nature play to the Routledge publication The Outdoor and Nature Coaches’ Handbook. Alongside my mentoring practice, I’m involved in research exploring how movement, natural environments and adventure influence coaching, mentoring, reflection and creativity. I enjoy bridging practical experience with emerging research to help shape the future of outdoor mentoring.

Much of my work takes place in more adventurous environments than traditional mentoring. Whether walking remote coastlines, crossing mountain ranges or spending several days living simply in the wilderness, I’ve found that shared challenge can accelerate reflection, deepen connection and create lasting personal insight.

I particularly enjoy working with entrepreneurs, leaders, creatives and people navigating periods of transition – those moments when the old map no longer seems to fit and a different perspective is needed.

As a mentor, I don’t believe I have the answers for other people.

Instead, I create the conditions in which insight can emerge. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions and walk alongside people as they discover their own answers.

My hope is that everyone I walk with returns home carrying more than memories of beautiful places. I hope they leave with greater clarity, renewed curiosity and practical actions that continue to shape their lives long after the journey has ended.

Whether you're exploring new paths, supporting someone who is, or drawn to the outdoors and nature, it is not just a walk. It is a threshold, a preparation.
