Melinda Alcosser is a Certified Walking Mentor and lifelong educator, endlessly curious and inspired by what becomes possible when people feel truly seen and supported to grow.

Co-founder of Connecticut Experiential Learning Center and builder of the Worldwide Walking Collective, a growing global community of people who walk together to form friendships, deepen understanding, and discover common ground, Melinda has spent her life creating spaces where people feel safe enough to grow.

She works with young people, communities, and travelers across the world, always toward helping people feel genuinely seen, and alive to what becomes possible when they slow down, breathe and connect.

She holds a self-designed degree in Movement, Rhythm and Culture from Antioch College, a Master’s in Environmental Education from Southern Connecticut State University, and studied at Yale’s Teacher Preparation Program. Her years of working in the field of experiential education, and as a trainer in Kingian Nonviolence, a philosophy of compassionate and principled engagement rooted in the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., taught her something no credential can. How to hold space without filling it. How to ask the question that opens rather than directs. How to trust that the person in front of you already carries what they need.

She is a percussionist who leads Drum Journeys, a Writing as Heart Medicine facilitator, and a Transformational Travel Designer. Each of these is an expression of a lifelong dedication to helping people come home to themselves.

Melinda walks because she trusts what it does. She has felt firsthand how moving through nature slows the mind and opens the heart. Nature is part of the medicine. It brings us back to the present, sharpens our awareness, and renews our connection to what is calling, to our own inner knowing. That personal knowing is at the root of everything she offers.

Those who walk with her describe her as a sea of tranquility who brings calm without distance, honesty without edge, and a quality of attention that makes the world worth looking at again, slowly, with wonder.

She is not here to give you answers. She is here to walk with you toward your own.

Let’s keep walking.

Before the intensity, before the ideas, before the brilliance of Synergy The Retreat Show 2026 in Croacia, we invite a small and carefully curated group to do something radically simple: slow down. João Perre Viana, founder of Walking Mentorship, alongside Partner Nuno Santos Fernandes, invite you to join us on a conscious walking journey near the event location, a passage designed to create the inner conditions to arrive truly present, grounded, and focused for Synergy The Retreat Show. Whether you're exploring new paths, supporting someone who is, or drawn to the outdoors and nature, it is not just a walk. It is a threshold, a preparation.
