We live in a society that at the first sign of pain or discomfort there is always someone (specially ourselves) offering a solution to give us relief.
As a consequence we are loosing conscious about the true nature of life.
Humans cannot bypass certain challenges and troubles inherent to our condition, but we can get better at facing reality and nothing beats reality.
When I walk under heavy skies I always revisit two important lessons about our existence :
Resilience
1 – The essential skill of resilience develops out of practise. Toughness in our brain is like a muscle. If we want to fight the temptation of procrastination, walking outside on a cold and rainy day might be the right training.
Weather and clothes
2 – There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes 🙂
This weekend, no matter what, go out for a walk.
Invite your best ideas, your partner or someone you like to spend time with. Talk, listen and ask questions. On the way back, the simple pleasure of entering home and enjoying a hot tea will make you feel one of the happiest persons in the world. And most likely a more resilient one.
If you happen to be in Portugal this weekend, join me and a bunch of wonderful people near Torres Vedras. We will walk around a very interesting topic: What is the meaning of friendship?
Keep walking with me,
