When everything seems dark, consider you may be the light. Have you ever heard the expression?

These last weeks seemed quite dark – especially in Portugal, where we are based, it was freezing and gloomy – the weather and the feeling.

Luckily at Walking Mentorship, we were busy with a couple of corporate programs that kept us walking.
We used creativity and technology to break the limitations and restrictions in our path and made significant progress.

We walked with extraordinary people from outstanding teams and could feel our programs’ impact on all of them.

Some of the talks were difficult, and some of the walks were challenging under heavy rain. We found some paths blocked and bumped into some restrictions imposed by our client companies. We lost participants in some dynamics (the zoom dropped, nothing serious ; ) and even run out of battery during a very anticipated call.

To be honest, we had some days when it was hard to get out of bed. We still did and kept walking. The rebellious act of standing and going out kept us sane and focused on taking on the challenges as opportunities to learn and improve ourselves.

A few days ago, we finished one more corporate program, and we were again blessed by fantastic feedback. More than words, it was the fact that nobody left the zoom room at the end of the final dynamic.
No one was speaking, but somehow we were sharing this precious shared moment, filled with light.

We cannot say what will happen tomorrow or in the coming weeks or months, but we are sure to keep walking towards the Action Plan we create during the program. Because, as we do, we are every day one step closer to the best version of ourselves. And remember, when everything seems dark, consider you may be the light.

    3 – IDEAS

(TOWARDS THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF)

Walking is one of the simplest and most strategic things you can do for yourself. It takes little preparation, minimal effort, no special equipment, and it can contract or expand to fit the exact amount of time you have available. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a single bout of moderate-to-vigorous activity (including walking) can improve our sleep, thinking, and learning, while reducing symptoms of anxiety.

When we go for a walk, we perform better on tests of memory and attention; our brain cells build new connections, staving off the usual withering of brain tissue that comes with age; we can actively change the pace of our thoughts by deliberately walking more briskly or by slowing down; and our attention is left to meander and observe, helping us generate new ideas and to have strokes of insight. Read this amazing article from Deborah Grayson Riegel.

4 – SHOULD WE WALK TOGETHER?

Walking Mentorship is a labour of love that we hope helps you gain deeper insight and equips you to create a meaningful impact in your life and the ones around you. How can we work together?  At WM, we try to keep things simple by offering Individual and Corporate Programs, see what is the best fit for you. Due to the current situation, we also offer fully remote programs, with the same dynamics and deepness, connected through technology – we continue to walk together.
