When I woke up yesterday I had a plan, like most days in my life. The “format” of my routines give me structure and keep me on track to pursue my objectives.
What was so different to make me share my 5th of July 2019 with you? Basically everything!
Basically everything!
When I took a picture from my office window at 5h45am I had no idea what my day would give to me in terms of opportunities to feel profoundly alive.
Initially I thought about flying from Lisbon to Geneva, stop in the tourism office in Aigle to buy the pilgrim Passports for Via Francigena we will be using tomorrow in the Walking Mentorship program, visit a distant cousin and rest until tomorrow.
But…
Every morning life presents in front of us gently and quietly, then you have to say yes or no and work your way through the day. If you want to welcome what is meant for you, open your eyes (or camera), arms and heart. Buckle up and dance.
First I enjoyed a perfect flight across the skies of Europe, giving me the chance to see clearly from up above many of the walking routes I have been doing for a couple of decades, sweet nostalgia.
Being on a train from the airport to the Canton of Valais gave the time to revise my to do list, start filling my own survival kit (in every program I am also always a participant), eat my first piece of Swiss chocolate and look at the mountains, the mighty mountains.
The weather was extremely hot, more like Southern Spain than Central Europe (33c°plus), but my amazing cousin welcomed me with a cold Super Bock…yessssssssssss.
After lunch, I had a plan to take a nap, but there was a street festival by lake Leman and the opportunity to take some amazing pictures, well…what the heck:) A little voice inside my head (yes, I hear voices) asked me: What are you waiting for?
Few hours later I was deepening my arms and feet on the water of the lake and slowly starting to understand the powerful reminder life wanted to give me in that moment.
What are you waiting for?
Good question I thought. Even a pretty unrested spirit like mine tend to feel and look for comfort ending up missing the million little simple things that happen around us.
All we need to do is work:)
To be truly alive we need to show up and give the very best of ourselves, always, everyday, everywhere…even when you go to sleep or out on a walk 🙂

Around 20h30 I thought we were about to call off the day when the cherry on top of the cake arrived when my other cousin joined us with some shiny pink bracelets with a free entrance to attend the Montreux Jazz festival.
I don’t have a bucket list, but if I had one this item would be on the top 10 for sure.
During almost three hours we were singing and dancing non stop. First to the incredible vibes of Faouzia, a young artist from Canada you are going to hear a lot about in the near future. And later an out of this world performance of George Ezra. Despite the fact that the “Budapest” singer sounds like he’s in his 50s, he actually just twenty something. Ezra and his band finish the concert asking in a song… Don’t we all need love? The answer is easy

I guess it is, so what are you waiting for?
Today a wonderful group of people in the Walking Mentorship will start walking towards the best version of ourselves here in the mighty Alps.
In my backpack besides very few clothes I always carry with me the beautiful people I had the honor to have walked with until today, they give me the strength and courage to carry on.
Until the day we walk together, keep walking with me
*where legends are born is the motto of Montreux jazz festival, and I can tell that yesterday I saw many of them. When you decide to live to the fullest you are nothing short of a legend.
